What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Originating in Japan, the word Reiki means spiritually guided life force energy. It helps a person's natural ability to heal on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.

Reiki Class Descriptions

Reiki I and II
Reiki I and II are taught together during a weekend intensive in a loving, sacred way. You will receive attunements to the Reiki I and II energy, which allow you to access greater healing energy. All the information and techniques are covered including:

• The Reiki hand positions.
• Giving a complete Reiki treatment for self and others.
• Japanese Reiki Techniques, as taught by Dr. Usui including:
  Gassho meditation, Reiji-ho - developing your intuition,
  Byosen Scanning - detecting where Reiki is needed,
  Gyoshi ho - sending Reiki with the eyes, Koki ho - using the breath to send Reiki, Kenyoku - dry bathing or clearing ones energy field, Jacki-kiri Joka-ho, clearing objects of negative energy.
• Hayashi Healing Guide for specific conditions
• Using Reiki for pets, plants, food, crystals, and more.
• The Reiki II symbols, how to use them with practice time.
• Using Reiki to heal unwanted habits or create new, healthy ones.
• Distant healing to send Reiki to family, friends, and world situations.
• Protecting your energy field from negativity.

A Reiki session feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around the client. The client lays on a massage table fully clothed. How can I learn Reiki?

The ability to use Reiki is simple to learn and is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. Reiki is taught in levels - Reiki I, II, Advanced, and Master. Reiki I, II, and Advanced classes last 7 to 8 hours each and are scheduled either over three evenings or taught in one day. Reiki Master is a two day class. Ricky's Reiki Qualifications

I am a Licensed Reiki Master in the Tibetan/Usui lineage and also a Karuna Reiki® Master. I began studying Reiki in 2006 and have studied with several Reiki Masters. Many of my classes were taken through the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), which is the organization through which I received my license. As a licensed teacher, I have agreed to follow the ethical guidelines for Reiki that were written by the ICRT.

My mission is to empower others to heal on the emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical levels.

Ricky is a licensed Reiki teacher through the International Center for Reiki Training and all classes are taught according to their standards. More information on the International Center for Reiki Training is available at www.reiki.org.

The class is a combination of lecture, discussion and experience. Practice time includes giving and receiving a complete Reiki treatment using all the hand positions, the self -treatment, practice using all the level II symbols including distant healing, and practice using all the Japanese Reiki Techniques mentioned above.

Reiki Kids
A Reiki Program for children taught by Ricky Yutuc and Karen Harrison.

Ages 6-12 This is a one day class from 10am to 4pm and includes a children's manual. Children 6-9 need to have a parent with them. In this class, kids will:

• Have fun and play with Reiki!
• Receive the Reiki I Attunement
• Be able to use Reiki for self, others, pets, and plants
• Have a tool to help themselves and others with stress, anxiety, stomach aches, headaches, and more!
• Learn about the human energy system
• Do crafts
• Hear stories

Cost: $60 per child or 2 children from same family $110 - SAVE $10

Reiki Circle at Unity Church of Overland Park

Join us for a community Reiki Circle at Unity Church of Overland Park. Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. This Reiki Circle is open to everyone.

Each person will receive a Reiki treatment of about 10 minutes from several people at once, which increases the potency of the treatment. You may come and go at any time during the circle. Our purpose is to heal ourselves and others, network with other Reiki people, spread Reiki, and have fun! Children are welcome.

Where: Unity Church of Overland Park, 10300 Antioch, Overland Park, KS

When: 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 7 to 9pm
